Reasoning
Forget about options during your low level state because the +12 option improves your defense by 12%. At a low lvl there just isnt that much improvement. Generally, you will be spending so much money on potions just to keep yourself alive in Devias that you dont have much to spend on armor.

Reasoning
When you are a low lvl you will almost always be using meteor (which is your best 1 on 1 attack for a long .... long time). Your meteor spell is better improved by attack speed rather than attack power. Thunderstaff = 20 speed and Serpantstaff = 25 speed.

--------:Common mistakes:--------
Thunder Staff:
The mistake most beginners make is to go into the lorencia market and find that Thunderstaff +0+0 from the NPC and go "ooooo blue... coool" Thunderstaff is a useless weapon and you will waste 15 aglility trying to equip it.
Angel Staff:
Another mistake is to try to spend money on a strong angellic staff. Angel staff might be cheap, but it doesnt give any perks. Not only is it a two handed weapon (so you can't use a shield), it doesn't give you an attack speed increase.

------:Where and how to fight:------
There are two ways to build your DW:
STR DW:
You will probably using staff of gorgon and a legendary set very early in the game but have very weak magic power. People usually end up with a STR dw by mistake (They really wanted that sphinx set.... then found out that sphinx isnt that great so had to upgrade to legendary). The best way to save yourself is to party in devias. Your job in the party would be to protect the EElfs by freezing the monsters that are trying to attack the elf.
Put all stats into energy and party in devias until you can fight alone in devias. Unfortunately you have to skip a large portion of dungeon 1 because by the time you get flame, the worms in dungeon wont give you much EXP.
Energy DW:
This is the correct way to lvl the DW. You will have hellfire by lvl 60 or maybe faster. Many people recommend this kind of speed but there are some setbacks.
Hellfire cost 120 Mana to cast. At lvl 60 you dont have that much mana anyway. I would stop at ES and upgrade your str enough to change your bone +4+0 to a bone +4+12 and invest your saved money right after you get ES.
Then upgrade mana until hellfire. The momment you get hellfire, you should trade your +4+12 set for some chaos and zen. then go out and look for better armor.

SPELLS and Stratigies:
Meteor - if you are going 1 on 1 with a monster
Poison - Use on monsters lvl 52 and above for a significant impact
Ice - Use it to help save other party members and to help you run from PKERS
Flame - Gather 2 or 3 monsters together before using this - Very fast killer
Twister - Very hard to use. Many DW's hit and run on Yeti's with this spell. It slows enemies down tho.
Evil Spirit - This is the Ultimate mob killer. Try to lure 6-10 low lvl monsters on 1 screen before unleashing this spell. Do not cast ES on a mob count of less than 5
Hell Fire - Attack is improved greatly by agility (you jump higher)
