This help is about some finer details in bow handleing technique. If your weapon of choice is bow and arrow, read it, it may save your life. To avoid misunderstandings, here is a rather lengthy tekst to clarify what its all about.

All elf know this unfortunate sequence of events. You have attacked a close range attack monster (worm, elite yeti, shadow, whatever) located at the far end of shooting range. You did so, thinking that since it is a close range attack monster, it would be safe using single shot at a distance. But you were fooled, the monster did not crawl up on you to attack at close range, it attacks you from afar, countery to a close range attack monsters basic instincts. Skilled shot has no effect at this distance and now you find yourself quickly loosing your health. Being a cautious elf this is no cause of alarm, the monster is at good distance and all you have to do is move a few steps away. But you were fooled, again. Trying to excape by running away only has the opposite effect and you find yourself briskly walking toward the monster loosing whatever is left of your health.

Arrrrgghhhh, How could this happen?
How can it be avoided?

I'll skip the lengty tekst answering question one, you'll get a headace.

So here is what you can do:
You attack the monster roaming around at the far end of shooting range by using the followering technique.

Place a skilled shot at the ground in front of the monsters feet.
The bow will not fire but the software will register the direction and that you whant to use skilled shot.

Quickly aim and shoot the monster using single shot.
This is the trick, the FIRST arrow will be skilled. As a consekvense the monster will register that it is being attacked but not from which position. The second arrow (and the followering) will be single shot, thus updating the monster as to where you are located. The monster will now close the distance while taking single shot damage.

Change to skilled shot and kill the poor thing.
You may also run for your life, you'll not get "out of control".

The metod is not foolproof, I noticed two circumstances where it will fail.
The first skilled arrow is a miss.
A monster leaveing your screen taking single shoot arrows will "forget" your initial skilled arrow.

It takes a little practice but it's quite fun. Go train on low level monsters before you challange the max monsters for your level.
I haven't DCed more than usueal using this metod.

Good luck and good hunting.
