Trading
TRADING

as you all know, trading nowadays is extremely dangerous (as there are a lot of scammers out there). this is why most of us opt to do our trading here in the muhq forum, however, there are times when we must trade in the in-game marketplace (like when we see a good deal or when we can't sell items here so we must sell them in-game). here are the do's and dont's for trading:

>> never try to sell things for too high a price. sure, you might find someone who'll buy the item for that price because he has enough money to throw around or because he doesn't know what the standard price is, but you'll have a hard time. you'd spent a lot of time trying to sell an item for too high a price, time that could be used training (and maybe even getting a jewel or a good item while training)

>> always be polite when trading. if someone offers a price WAY below what you're asking for or the standard market price of the item, never laugh in his face or call him a noob. the person might just be new to the game and he might not know the standard price, and it would be really helpful to him if you told him the standard price of the item instead of walking away and making him feel stupid. tongue.gif

>> when trading an item, always double and triple check the items in your box and in his. patience is the key to not getting scammed. it's also a good idea to let him press ok first. if you're both telling each other to press ok first, then i suggest pressing it at the same time.

>> if a trade gets cancelled just when everything is all set (ie, when all the items are in place), and if the person you're trading with says something like "sorry, accident" or "sorry, lag" and he requests a trade again, BEWARE WHAT HE PLACES INTO THE TRADE BOX. some scammers will intentionally cancel a trade then when they request again, they put in an item that is of cheaper value. (example, you're buying a heliacal +2 +skill, but after the trade is "accidentally" cancelled, and after he requests again, he puts in only a heliacal +1)

>> this one's obvious. do not trade with someone if someone else is announcing that he/she is a scammer! you can give the guy a chance if you want to, but i personally wouldn't take the risk.
